Final Post

Over the past semester, this course has helped me learn a great deal about health and healthcare. I feel that I was already proficient in the research and argumentative writing process, this class did help me to improve my efficiency in both the research and essay drafting process. In addition, peer editing and private conferences with the professor were both extremely helpful tools for improving my work. The blogging assignment was helpful for organizing my thoughts and understanding where I am at in the drafting process. I would recommend that future students use the blog as an opportunity to reflect and analyze exactly what other work they need to do on their draft. However, I think that my biggest take away from this class was the information that I learned while researching. I am majoring in Biomedical Engineering and hoping to attend medical school, so understanding healthcare is extremely important for my future career. During my research, I learned a great deal of specific information on vaccines, clinical trials, and minority health concerns, all of which are areas that I may eventually work in during my future career. I found all of the information that I discovered during my research to be very interesting, which helped confirm that the medical field will be the correct path for me. Overall, I believe that health-specific information and research skills that I learned will be the most helpful for me in future classes, making them an important takeaway from WRIT 150.

  1. I think that it is underrated the reflection part of the blog as well, as I did not think about it when writing my final blog post. As the reflection part helps you with looking at your organization

  2. That's great that the research you did has a strong correlation to the field you are interested, but you still make a good point that despite the content being "relevant" or not, there are other take aways–that I felt as well–such as making my drafting and research processes swifter etc.
